*MEN'S RETREAT: If you are interested please let Caleb, Kyle or Taylor know by Sept. 13th so they can get a count and see who needs to bring what. It will be Oct 2-3

*WOMEN: Tamara and I were thinking about the ladies of the class getting together on Friday, Oct 2nd (since of men will be gone). So, the night open. We have some ideas and will talk about it in SS!

* We will be moving into a bigger classroom! Mike King is to let us know where (he said old impact building, but we don't have a room #). Keep checking blog for when and where! We are VERY thankful that the Lord continues to add amazing young couples to our class!

I know I usually put the "Prayer Request" on the right, but I wanted to ask, again, for prayers for Camden. She is like our niece. Her mother, Dana, and have been best friends since we were 12 yrs old and we think of each other as sisters. Dana grow up at FBCO. Her mother passed away from a brain tumor in 2001 which Dana was her full time caregiver until her death. She is fully aware of the possibilities that could be ahead. I cannot tell you how my heart is burden about this "spot" seen on her x-ray of her foot. She will go to the doctor tomorrow. I know whatever the outcome it will be for the glory of the Lord and His will will be done. I ask specifically for peace for Dana and Clay, and that the Lord will put good Christian doctors in their path. I am praying that all my "worrying" is for nothing! Thank you for letting me add my personal desires.

SS class Men's weekend will be in October (date and time TBA). So, be thinking about it and getting ready for some male bounding!

Snow day at FBC!!

I thought I would share a few photo (from the 300 or so Kyle and I took). It was a beautiful winter wonderland. I couldn't get the old song... "What can make me white as SNOW...nothing, but the blood of JESUS!" off my mind Sunday. Great turn out for SS guys!! Hope everyone had fun playing in the snow! Hope you like the pictures. *First Fridays March 6th 11:45am Be sure to call the church office ASAP to sign up. Space is limited.

*My Jerusalem is April 4th. If anyone would like to "lead this up" please let us know. Taylor is traveling a great deal, and Kyle has 2 baseball games that day.

*"Hugs and Loves" is needing diapers sizes 3,4,5. If you would bring them to SS we will get the right person.

*College Minister is needing women to Disciple college women. If you are interested please contact Trace.

*March 1st SS social: Bowling!!! from 2-4pm. We need 10 people inorder to get the $7.50 price per person. Please email Tamara if you are planning on going so we can get a head count.

***On personal note: Thanks to everyone who prayed for Baby Maddox, her family, and me last week. Your prayers were felt. It was a difficult time, but it was a blessing to give them pictures of their sweet angel. Loni has wrote about Maddox and even posted some pictures on her blog. I'm writing this tonight with a great sense of saddness yet peace...Baby Maddox Elise Hodge is now back with her heaven Father. Loni went for her weekly check up today and Maddie's heart beat was silent. There is no way to tell when she made her journey home for sure, but she is in her Father's hands. Justin and Loni and holding up as well as can be expected. Loni has updated her blog, and I feel it is okay to share their news. Loni will be induced tomorrow at 7am at UAB. I will be traveling up there in the morning, and be will with them to take pictures of Maddie. PLEASE pray for them, their family, and me. Thanks- Steph

Welcome to SS Gabe and Kara Karns!

We have decided to wrap up the "Men are like Waffles, Women are Like Spagtti Book", and will start the quarterly. It is a great book, but we feel that it really covers things we have already covered.

Tamara is starting to get things going for some socials. I think we are looking at having "super club" groups which will made up of 3 to 4 couples. It we give us an opportunity to meet with each other in smaller groups and get to know each other better. Also, we have talked about going bowling as a group. Keep an eye out for upcoming events!

Marriage Seminar will be held at FBC on MArch 21st. I think it cost $45 a couple, and you have to sign up for it.

February 6th is First Fridays. It is $7 and a great time for fellowship! We can all meet up and sit together of anyone would like to come. They are great about working with the "lunch hour"!

Glad to be back!!!
We started our new book and guess what!!?? When men say they are thinking about "nothing". They really are thinking about "nothing". How weird! We look forward to what else we will learn about how God made us for each other! Just proves to me over and over how prefect God has put everything together!
The books ("Men are Like Waffles - Women are Like Spaghetti" by Bill and Pam Farrell) are at Lighthouse bookstore for about $13. You do have to ask for it!!

Welcome Back guys! I feel like it has been forever with all the holidays and everyone traveling! We pray everyone had a blessed Christmas! We are praying that each couple will be in the house of the Lord every Sunday to be refreshed with His spirit and to grow in His word!!! We look forward to seeing each of you!!

We will be starting a new study. After the votes were cast the book "Men are like waffles and Woman are like Spaghetti" won. It will be an exciting look at how God has made us so different yet so perfect for each other. And I'm sure have lots of laughs! The church will not provide these books. You do not have to have this book, but it would be helpful. I will get the "official" name and author and post it.

We want to welcome Paul and Beth Cox and Patrick and Carey Holland to are class! Hope to see you guys again!!

Congrats to Will and Caroline who are expecting their 1st baby!!!!

Just to let the class know that Krisan lost Grandma Pat on Dec. 27th. Please keep her and her family in your prayers!

The Monday night Bible study for the men and women are still meeting and EVERYONE is welcome! It is at Barry and Laura's house. Please come!

Merry Christmas!
We pray each of you have a blessed day celebrating Jesus' birthday!!!

Just a few announcements/prayers:

23rd: Morgan will be induced. Please pray for her, baby and Casey!!!!

Today David Parker had heart surgery around 2pm. I have not heard from them nor has anyone else. I am praying no news is good news! Please keep David, Brock, Amy and Alyssa in your prayers.

Sara Armstrong delivered her baby boy at 26 weeks. She was out of state visiting family. Her husband is the college minister for Auburn United Methodist Church. They also have 2 other children.

Also a couple in our church found out today that their child, which was due in 3 weeks, died in the womb. They are scheduled for a c-section tomorrow, the 23rd. Please keep them in your prayers. To my knowledge there were no problems with the pregnancy. I really have no idea what happen other than it was the Lord's timing.

Dude! you guys are a good looking bunch. I saw that picture and it brang a smile to my face! Merry Christmas to everyone. Tam and I can't tell you guys how much we have enjoy being a part of this class. I can see God working in each of your marriages. It's exciting to see couples grow close to the Lord in the early stages of marriage because that sets the foundation for years to come. When we were first asked to help teach this class with the Pinckard's, we had no idea what to expect, but God placed each of you in the class and you have all added a unique attribute and character to the group. Enjoy Christmas! Embrace the joy of marriage and remember to give with all that you have...to each other and to those around you! We serve a great God!

Sunday, Nov 30th Noon we will have a pot luck lunch in the room beside our Sunday School class to fix the baskets for the dinner on Monday night. Please bring side dishes. Pinckards and Teels will provide the meat. I will get with Tamara about drinks and paper products to see if we need those also.

Sunday, Nov 30th 6:30pm kicks off the Christmas season at church. Hope everyone can come. See the church website for all the details about upcoming events!!

Monday, Dec 1st 6:30pm will be the Harvest Dinner in rm 137 at FBC. Everyone is welcome to come and help. Our class will also be providing the children's time. Steve Smith has agreed to play Christmas carols for us!!!! Stacy Tinsley will also be telling the Christmas story! If you would like to donate money to help with the cost of the baskets and "Happy Birthday Jesus" cake please let me know.

Thursday, Nov. 13th is our SS social at Taylor's parents. Taylor will be emailing directions. Dress warmly!! There was a list that went around today to sign up to help bring stuff. If you would like to help please contact Tamara by email or cell phone! And GREAT news...Steve is going to provide music. We are so excited!!!

Harvest Evangelism Dinner is on Monday, December 1st at FBC. I spoke to you guys about the financial needs to fill our baskets this am. I was able to get in touch with Karen Herring this afternoon. She has told me that our class has money in the budget that will help us fill the baskets. So, will still need financial help with whatever you can give. Laura, I still would love to get the oriental trading stuff from you. I'll be ordering everything on Monday. We will have a pot luck on Sunday, Novemeber 30th right after 11am service to put the baskets together.

December SS class social...We are still planning on Thursday,Dec 11th or Friday, Dec 12th. Send an email to me to let me know which will be best. We are thinking around 7pm with finger foods and games.

Bible Study is still on Mondays at 7pm at Barry and Laura Willis' house.

FBC: Thanksgiving Communion Service on Sunday, Nov 16th at 5:15pm in room 311. There will also be a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday night, Nov 16th at 6:30pm.

Life Savers are collecting cans of green beans for Thanksgiving. Barrels will be at The Spot and the Preschool Lobby. Bring cans ASAP. They will be picked up on Nov. 24th.

Operations Christmas Child deadline is Sunday, Nov. 16th.

Gift Wrap Outreach is on Saturday, Dec 13th from 10:30am to 3:30pm in Tiger Town in front of TJ Maxx. Contact Cade Farris.

Prayer Page Ministry: Please prayer for Hugh Stewart and each time you pray call the prayer pager at 742-5261 after the ton dial 111# and hang up. He will vibrate each time so he knows he is being prayed for.

Announcements:

Our class is responsible for baskets for the Harvest Evangelism Dinner that will be given to each family to help tell the story of Christmas. We are placing a "Jesus Storybook Bible" and a devotional for preschool children in each baskets. We will be having a sign up sheet for those who wish to help with other things to go in the baskets. We are asking that 10 of each item be bought. One for each baskets. Money donations are welcomed also. We will also meet right after the 11am service on Sunday, Nov. 30th to put the baskets together. We will do pot luck for lunch in our classroom. The Harvest Evangelism Dinner will be Monday, Dec. 1st at FBC.

Our next class social will be on Thursday, Nov. 13th at Taylor's parents farm in Auburn. We will have a bonfire, hot dogs, drinks, and smores. Look for the post cards in the mail. Hopefully, Steve Smith will provide the music....let us know Steve :o) We will also be showering Casey and Morgan Rigsby with a diaper shower. So, everyone is welcome to bring diapers (sizes 2 or 3) for their little blessing due at the end of December.

Also, if you would like to do a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child the deadline is Sunday, Nov. 16th.

Sunday, Nov. 23rd is our Thanksgiving Community Service at church!

Brett and Cathy welcome Kenadie!

Just wanted to let everyone know that Brett (Our Music Minister) and Cathy welcomed their daughter, Kenadie, yesterday! Everyone is doing well. I saw them today and she is beautiful! She has a head full of black hair, which Cathy already has a bow in it!! Kenadie weighed 7lbs 6oz 19.5ins. Hopefully , they will come home on Sunday or Monday! Well, we had a great time playing a friendly round of softball today with Mantooth/Dover class! Everyone did an awesome job! It is great to be able to get with friends and enjoy a beautiful day the Lord has made! Thanks to everyone who played softball. Those of us who "cheered" enjoyed watching the game! Testing Testing 1-2-3. The teel's are in the know with the internet and flying high with technology. this is incredibly new to us...so bear with us. but i'm pretty sure it's just an informational/slash (that was a joke...) journal type of thing. so....informationally, we are looking forward to the softball game in which we will prevail with a cool and calm attitude. journalistically, i sliced my foot on a piece of glass while cleaning the kitchen. that's right...cleaning the kitchen, 500 points for taylor! and -500 point for bragging about it. see you guys Sunday!

Welcome to Adult 38 Sunday School class blog! It is very basic, but will be able to keep everyone updated. We hope everyone is have a great Monday. Just a few things to add...

We will have the Softball game with the Mantooth/Dover class this Sunday Oct. 26th
